Synopsis :
Among the seaside cities of the Izu sea waves and the shining sunlight, Iori Kitahara had just started her first year at Izu University. When he moved to his uncle's scuba diving shop, Grand Blue, he eagerly anticipated his dream campus life, full of beautiful girls and good friends.
Story
At the beginning of the episode, you might think that this anime also included the genre of romance into it because it featured the scene of meeting Kitahara Iori and Kotegawa Chisa after 10 years ago.
But it turns out that is wrong in this anime that you will not find romance, because in each episode you will be made to laugh out loud by the storyline, well this is indeed a comedy genre anime, although there is no romance in it in, this Grand Blue emphasizes friendship.
Although each character seems indifferent to his love story, it turns out that there is one character who always thinks of a love story, Yoshiwara Aina. Can they maintain the bond of their friendship by putting aside the love story? This is what makes the Grand Blue anime different from the others.
Oh yeah, even though this anime has a diving theme but don't be fooled, because there are only a few scenes that are raised when diving compared to drinking events hehe. For the comedy story, it seems that I don't need to explain at length (fear of spoilers) for the size of comedy anime.
In my opinion, Grand Blue is good enough to be included in your anime list. So for those who like comedy anime genre I recommend watching it.
Background
In terms of background "Izu University and the city are on the edge beach "in my opinion is very interesting because as far as I know there are a lot of anime that take middle school / high school background and only a few animes that take the collage/student background, maybe to make a new impression and different from other anime.
Character
For the description of the character is also quite interesting, such as an older sister who has the character "siscon", a blond Otaku fan of "Rarako-tan" who has a handsome face, then a girl with thick make-up with a flat chest and senpai who like naked, etc.. With a variety of hilarious and funny characters like that it is certainly very easy to laugh the audience.
Animation
Well, maybe because this is one of the important factors that can be a plus for the comedy anime genre, for the animation I think it's worked pretty well. There are various hilarious expressions that can make us laugh out loud. Especially when looking at the various expressions of one of the characters "Kotegawa Chisa" when blushing, angry, sad, upset, laughing, and who is always the victim is Kitahara Iori.
Overall
Although in terms of comedy, Grand Blue is quite good, but in terms of stories, this anime can give a bad example if there are underage children watching it.
I think that for the review this time, for those of you who like to watch anime or like about Japan, still visit Sukinime. Arigatou Minna-san
